Early 1900s
Welcome to the Madison Historical and Genealogical Society's homepage! The first meeting to organize the Society was held on June 16, 1999. The Constitution and By-Laws were adopted on November 17, 1999. The purpose of the Society is to record, preserve, and restore historical materials, buildings, and sites pertinent to the cultural heritage of the Town of Madison and to research, record, and publish the genealogical history of the citizens of the Town of Madison.
We presently meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the old Old Point Avenue Elementary School on Old Point Avenue, Madison. Enter to the rear of the building to get to our new room. If the meetings are to be held at a different location, date, and/or time it will be in the notice in the newspaper and posted at various locations in town. Please call if you are unsure and want to attend. The public is invited to attend all meetings and are encouraged to join the Society.
